Anime of 2006

Anime of 2006 collects the titles from that year that AniCal currently tracks, which is 9 series at the moment. It is a strong list even at that size. Death Note and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion both premiered in 2006 and are still among the most recommended entry points into the medium, and Fate/stay night gave that franchise its first television adaptation.

The rest of the year covered here runs wide. Gintama began a comedy that would outlast almost everything around it, Hellsing Ultimate took vampire material in a far more violent direction, and D.Gray-man and REBORN! both started long runs aimed at a shonen audience. School Rumble 2nd Term and The Familiar of Zero round it out with school comedy and fantasy romance.

Each title on this page carries its air dates and, where the series is still releasing, a countdown to the next episode. Streaming links are listed per series wherever we have them.
