Privacy Policy

AniCal is an anime airing calendar. You can browse schedules without an account. An account is only needed for watchlists and episode notifications.

Account: name, email address and a hashed password. Your email is used to sign in, verify your account and send the notifications you enable — nothing else.

Preferences: timezone, notification settings, appearance and page filters (the filters live in cookies on your device).

Watchlist: the anime you track and their statuses.

Linked accounts (optional): if you connect AniList or MyAnimeList, we store the access tokens needed to sync your lists. You can unlink them at any time in Settings, which deletes the tokens.

Push notifications (optional): if you enable them, we store the push subscription endpoint your browser generates.

Support messages: what you write us through the support form, so we can reply.

Only essential and functional cookies: your session, security (CSRF), appearance, and saved page filters. No advertising, no analytics, no tracking cookies — which is why there is no cookie banner.

Anime data (titles, schedules, artwork) comes from the AniList API. If you link an account, list syncing talks to AniList or MyAnimeList on your behalf.

Push notifications are delivered through your browser's push service (e.g. Mozilla or Google, depending on your browser).

We use Anthropic's Claude to write some page descriptions from our anime catalog. No personal data is ever sent there.

We do not sell or share your data with anyone.

Your data is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account in Settings removes your profile, watchlist, linked-account tokens and push subscriptions. Encrypted database backups are pruned automatically after a short rotation period.

Administrative security logs (which include IP addresses) are kept to protect the service.
