Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore dake ga Osowarenai
What is Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore dake ga Osowarenai?
Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore dake ga Osowarenai is an action thriller anime set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by the undead. The series follows Takemura, a reclusive office worker who suddenly finds himself in a zombie-infested landscape with a peculiar advantage: the zombies ignore him entirely. This supernatural premise forms the core tension of the story, as Takemura discovers he possesses an unexpected immunity that sets him apart from all other survivors.
The anime blends action and ecchi elements while exploring darker themes about survival and morality. Takemura's antisocial nature and initial indifference to helping others create immediate conflict with the series' central question: will he use his unique power to save humanity, or will he simply exploit it for personal gain in a collapsing world? The premise inverts typical zombie fiction by giving the protagonist security rather than vulnerability.
Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore dake ga Osowarenai is scheduled to premiere on January 1, 2027 as a winter TV series. This marks the first airing of the adaptation, making it a fresh entry into the zombie genre for viewers seeking survival stories with supernatural twists and morally ambiguous protagonists.
In an instant, the daily life of Takemura, an office worker who hates people, changed. Before he knew it, he found himself in a world full of zombies. But for some reason, he is the only one who is not attacked by the zombies. "Helping people? Why would I do that? I'm going to live in this world as I please." In a post-apocalyptic world where civilization is on the verge of collapse, Takemura has unexpectedly gained great power. As the only person that the zombies won't touch, will he be a hero, or is he just another......? (Source: Frontier Works, translated)
