What is Thunder 3?

Thunder 3 drops this summer with a wild premise: three schoolboys discover a DVD that opens a gateway to a parallel universe. When Futaba gets kidnapped by aliens on the other side, the boys realize their cartoon bodies become superhuman in that hyper-realistic world—and they're ready to fight back. Episode 2 airs July 15, 2026.

Three ordinary schoolboys come into possession of a DVD that supposedly opens a gateway to a parallel universe, but when their backs are turned Pyontaro's little sister Futaba passes through and gets kidnapped by the aliens that have overrun that version of Earth! Discovering that their cartoonish bodies make them supermen in the hyper-realistic parallel universe, the boys set out to rescue Futaba. (Source: Kodansha USA)
