From Overshadowed to Overpowered: Second Reincarnation of a Talentless Sage

From Overshadowed to Overpowered: Second Reincarnation of a Talentless Sage is a twelve-episode action and fantasy ONA that premiered in summer 2026. The series follows a legendary sage who died in failure centuries ago and returns to a world where magic has faded into obscurity. Reborn with his original power and memories intact, he enrolls at an elite academy to restore true sorcery to a civilization that has forgotten its depths. His overwhelming abilities immediately reshape everything around him as dormant ancient forces stir back to life.

This series released in advance on multiple platforms starting June 26th, 2026, with a standard television broadcast beginning the following week on July 2nd, 2026. The ONA format allowed early access through streaming services including dAnimeStore, ABEMA, U-NEXT, and Anime Hodai. All twelve episodes have now completed their run, making the full series available to watch from start to finish.

The premise appeals to viewers who enjoy reincarnation narratives combined with academy settings and power-scaling storylines. The core appeal lies in watching a character rediscover forgotten magical knowledge while challenging an entire institution's understanding of what sorcery can achieve.
