What is Echo?
Echo is a fantasy drama film that premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival in summer 2026. The movie explores parallel narratives: two identical children traveling through a strange, liminal world guided by a mischievous spirit, and a grieving pregnant woman in our world confronting loss and uncertainty. Originally part of the Gemnibus Vol. 2 anthology released in March 2026, Echo received wider recognition following its festival screening and represents a unique blend of speculative storytelling and intimate human emotion.
As a single-film release rather than a serialized series, Echo offers a complete narrative experience in one sitting. The story's nine-month journey framework mirrors the experience of pregnancy itself, creating thematic resonance between its fantastical and earthbound plotlines. Viewers drawn to contemplative drama with surreal elements will find the film's dual perspectives and symbolic world-building rewarding. The festival premiere indicates this is a carefully crafted, artistic work aimed at audiences seeking substantive, character-driven cinema rather than conventional entertainment.
Among a primordial ocean of stars, two innocent, identical children share a vessel. It comes to ground on a strange, liminal world, where a mischievous spirit appears, announcing itself as their guide on the nine-month journey ahead of them. Here in the world we know, meanwhile, a bereaved and pregnant woman struggles with grief and terrible uncertainty.
