Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari Cour 2 continues the story of tsukumogami, objects that have taken on a life of their own, and the people whose job is to deal with them when that life turns hostile. This half brings a new set of enemies threatening Kyoto, and the working relationship at the centre of the series is put under considerably more strain.

The cour runs 12 episodes and has finished airing. It follows directly from the first cour, which is where to start.

The series is built on an unusual arrangement: a human raised to destroy these spirits, and a spirit acting as her guardian, neither of whom can entirely trust the other's instincts. The second half spends more time on where that arrangement came from. Expect supernatural action with a steady undercurrent of grief running beneath it.
