GROTESQQQUE
What is GROTESQQQUE?
GROTESQQQUE is an anthology movie consisting of three original animation segments releasing in fall 2026. Each segment explores different genres and worlds: ÆLIENS follows an alien girl searching for Earth friendships amid intergalactic exchange, Yotsuyushika★Shoujo depicts girls competing in a mysterious game within an eternal Tokyo night, and Nocturne presents vampires and survivors finding beauty in a post-human world. The film blends action, comedy, drama, sci-fi, slice of life, and supernatural elements across its three distinct stories, making it appeal to viewers seeking varied narratives within a single release.
The movie arrives on November 6, 2026, marking the first and only episode of this project's theatrical run. Each segment stands alone as a complete story, so the anthology format means you can experience multiple narratives and tonal shifts without committing to a traditional series. GROTESQQQUE suits audiences who enjoy experimental animation and self-contained storytelling that juggles serious themes with absurdist humor and world-building.
Anthology movie consisting of three original animation segments: Q1 - ÆLIENS (エリィアンズ) Earth has entered an era of intergalatic exchange. Amidst swirling prejudice and fear of aliens, Elie, an alien girl, arrives as a space goodwill ambassador. She loves Earth's culture and its often absurd daily life, and has teamed up with a civil servant working at the space agency to search for "friends". Q2 - Yoroshiku★Shoujo (夜露死駆★少女) GALs TOKYO, a city where morning never comes. Night after night, girls who have lost their place in reality, known as "Gal P", gather here. Their goal is to become the winner, the "Queen" in a game called "Queen of Butterfly" or "QoB" for short. Q3 - Nocturne: Kono Grotesque na Yoru ni (ノクターン～このグロテスクな夜に～) A world after humanity has perished. Traveling in a van are Ayame, a pure-blooded vampire, and three girls who survived by being bitten and "infected" by her. There, they find a sky full of stars that illuminate the night as brightly as day, and fields of glittering golden grass—even a desolate world looks so beautiful through the eyes of a vampire. They enjoy a simple everyday life in this world left behind. (Souce: Official Website, translated)
