What is Absolute Duo?

Absolute Duo follows Tooru Kokonoe, a student at an elite academy where warriors manifest their souls as weapons called Blazes. Unlike his peers, Tooru's Blaze manifests as a protective shield instead of an offensive weapon—a rare anomaly that sets him apart. Paired with a mysterious silver-haired girl through the school's Duo partner system, Tooru must prove his worth in a world where strength defines survival.

The story begins with Blaze — a weapon that is the manifestation of a human's soul. Tooru Kokonoe happens to be qualified for this, but for some reason his Blaze is not a weapon, but a shield.
